What is the connection of astrology and neuroscience? Authors of various texts assert there exists a tight connection with astrology, alchemy, and the hermetic sciences. The application of the alchemy keys for the seven planet spheres can be used to explain different mental emotional states. The tarot deck is really a map of the celestial globe of night time stars. Each of the picture cards of the major arcana refer to various members of the zodiac and the associated planets. The minor arcana refers to the corresponding decans for each zodiac member. If examine entirely the deck would account for all the stars and planets viewed from earth. Rather than focusing on this external point of view a different approach is worth considering. What if the earth meant the center of the head. How than would these constellations correspond to the various components of the brain? The hypothetical view is radical for those who like to watch the stars. Remember in esoteric texts the words stars and planets actually refer to the organs of the body. The miracle and mystery of Babylon is how does it work? To reveal the body in action can be understood from these texts as they not only provide information on how various nerves and organ processess function they also provide knowledge of the location of these organs. All this knowledge and information is in poetic metaphor. An examination of the planet spheres and physiology reveals that the astrologers were not talking about the stars that the astronomers study. Lets first consider the planets as they explain a good deal as to how the alchemical keys function. The Sun is the Thalamus This sphere is renown for its honey-colored eyes, square body. He is popular because of his clean habits. He is bilious, highly intelligent and has no hair on his head. The Thalamus The thalamus is an ovoid mass, c.4 cm long, which borders the dorsal part of third ventricle. The narrow anterior pole lies close to the midline, and forms the posterior boundary of the interventricular foramen. This organ is renown in many texts. The Greek Hercules and Jason both involve trips to the thalamus. The Moon is the hypothalamus This organ plays a major function in the regulation of the release of hormones from the pituitary body. This work results in the regulation of body temperature. Here is where it becomes interesting. The hypothalamus organizes the goal seeking behavior. This is also where behavioral changes occurs due to environment. To change your attitude you must control Moon. This explains the astrological meaning behind malefic and benefic to physiology. As the hormone signals wax and wane they have effects on our moods. When the signals decrease the moon will be malefic. The affects will be different in the case of increasing signals. This corresponds to a benefic condition. The strength of this effect depends of course on which house the moon resides in. The Moon is windy and phlegmatic. She has a round body and is learned. She is beautiful. She has a sweet form of speech and is fickleminded. Mars is the Amygdala The nucleus amygdalae (amygdala) is an ovoid gray mass, situated at the lower end of the roof of the inferior cornu. It is merely a localized thickening of the gray cortex, continuous with that of the uncus; in front it is continuous with the putamen, behind with the stria terminalis and the tail of the caudate nucleus. Mars has the power to correct imperfections. Without balancing from the other planets false pride can be observed. Mars is Maelfic. Mercury is the sub thalamic nucleus The subthalamic nucleus is a biconvex, lens-shaped nucleus in the subthalamus of the diencephalon. It lies medial to the internal capsule, immediately rostral to the level at which the latter becomes continuous with the crus cerebri of the midbrain. Within its substance, small interneurons intermingle with large multipolar cells with dendrites, which extend for about one-tenth the diameter of the nucleus. Mercury possesses an attractive physique and the ability to make pun or to speak words having double meaning, has a strong sense of humour. He has a blend of all three humours of Bile, Phlegm and wind. Mercury is only Malefic when joined to another Malefic. Jupiter is the Globus Pallidus The globus pallidus lies medial to the putamen and lateral to the internal capsule. It consists of two segments, lateral (external) and medial (internal), which are separated by an internal medullar lamina, and which have substantially different connections. Jupiter confers knowledge and happiness. It is Benefic. Venus is the Substantia Nigra The substantia nigra is a nuclear complex deep to the crus cerebri in each cerebral peduncle of the midbrain. It consists of a pars compacta and a pars reticulata. Venus is joyful, and phlegmatic. Saturn is the Putamen The corpus striatum consists of the caudate nucleus, putamen and globus pallidus. Because of their close proximity, the putamen and globus pallidus have historically been considered as an entity, termed the lentiform complex or nucleus. Saturn has an emaciated and long physique, honey colored eyes, is windy in temperament. Saturn is malefic Rahu and Ketu is the head and tail of the Caudate Nucleus. This is very interesting as in Burma and Bengal astrologers identify these as two planets. In the west Rahu refers to the moon rising as she crosses the elliptic. In the case of Ketu the moon descends at the elliptic. This elliptic is the line which represents the road the planets travel on. The path of the Rahu and Ketu describe the journey that a dragon makes. In geomancy these two planets are utilized. This therefore shows that even in geomancy a part of the brain has a correspondence. This is why it is said the mind has all the answers. The universe past, present, and future is accessible to the mind. Access of this information requires the use of sound and color. The vibration of a particular word can provide the necessary information. This is why when we relax the answer comes to us. The zodiac signs correspond to the cranial nerves Zodiac Nerve Lord Aries Oculomotor Mars Taurus Olfactory Venus Gemini Vagus Mercury Cancer Hypoglossal Moon Leo Optic Sun Virgo Facial Mercury Libra Troclear Venus Scorpio Vestibular Mars Sagittarius Trigeminal Jupiter Capricorn Abducens Saturn Aquarius Cochlear Saturn Pisces Glossopharyngeal Jupiter The older zodiac chart has a method to the madness. Rather than a circular chart that can be seen today this diamond pattern was developed to maintain the mirror symmetry that exists. This can be seen by the sagittal view of the brain.

A good scholar we must all become. To make us free requires that we help each other. Knowledge from all traditions is essential. Therein lies the keys to the doors. A note of thanks to W. E. Budge makes another door of perception to be forced open without the need of physical potions. There lies an essential invocation for each and everyone of us in the text of the Day Comes Forth. That can be found in chapter XLII. One who sleeps associates through binding the body with the deities. By performing this ritual a person starts to realize the connection of Heaven and Earth. This will improve daily activities. To know what is inside and around you has a profound effect on the mind. It is though this very invocation that explains how King Solomon used the Workers to construct the Temple.
The use of binding makes the conscious self activate and connect with the subconscious. Various day to day objectives can be then accomplished and thus bypass the cycle of 7 tones. This repetition is apparent with depression. The dissipation of energy makes ones plans stop. Once passed the planning and dreaming start anew until the next dip in the emotional well. 1 Bind Nu with Hair: My Hair is the hair of Nu 2 Bind Disk with Face: My Face is the face of the Disk 3 Bind Hathor with Eyes: My Eyes are the eyes of Hathor 4 Bind Ap-uat with Ears: My Ears are the ears of Ap-uat 5 Bind Khenti-Khas with Nose My Nose is the nose of Khenti-Khas 6 Bind Anpu with Lips My Lips are the lips of Anpu 7 Bind Serqet with Teeth My Teeth are the teeth of Serqet 8 Bind the Devine Goddess of Isis with Neck My Neck is the neck of the Devine Goddess of Isis 9 Bind Ba-neb-Tattu with Hands My Hands are the hands of Ba-neb-Tattu 10 Bind Neith, (the lady of Sais) with Fore-arms My Fore-arms are the forearms of Neith, the Lady of Sais 11 Bind Suti with Backbone My Backbone is the backbone of Suti 12 Bind Osiris with Phallus My Phallus is the phallus of Osiris 13 Bind Lords of Kher-aba with Reins My Reins are the reins of the Lords of Kher-aba 14 Bind The Mighty one of Terror with Chest My Chest is the chest of the Mighty one of Terror 15 Bind Sekhet with the Belly and Back My Belly and Back is the belly and back of Sekhet 16 Bind the Eye of Horus with the Buttocks My Buttocks is the buttocks of the Eye of Horus 17 Bind Nut with the the Hips and Legs My Hips and Legs are the hips and legs of Nut 18 Bind Ptah with Feet My Feet are the feet of Ptah 19 Bind the Living Gods with my Fingers and Leg-Bones My Fingers and Leg-Bones are the fingers and leg-bones of the Living Gods Following the Nineteenth binding the following is uttered to complete the invocation: There is no member of my body which is not the member of a god. The god Thoth shieldeth my body altogether, and I am Ra day by day. A mortal can be raised from the dead, and obtain life everlasting in a transformed glorified body. This means that the occupants of the solar boat are what makes up the body. The vessel of the body is the boat itself. This makes understanding why there are so many references to the solar boat. This also explains the connection art in various times and cultures always refer to elements found in physiology. The Microcosm is an entity. A constellation refers to an organism. A world until itself. The fixed stars are the organs. The firmament refers to sphere of the mind. The planet and neighboring stars are the mental states of this mind. Just as stars and planets have exaltations, conjunctions, and oppositions the mind experiences states of feelings, emotions, ideas, loves, and hates. The linkages in space between celestial bodies also have an analogy in the organs of the body. They are not independent but are interconnected. For the Microcosm constellation the Sun is the brain. The Moon is the spleen. Saturn is the liver. The lungs are Mercury. Venus is the kidneys. The Moon provides the intelligence of the brain. The list of the seven spiritual principles. These states cannot be observed. Only physical effects can be detected. The different amounts of these principles affect our thinking. Earth is the real essence of matter. Saturn is matter called Prakriti. This principle provides fixity and solidity. It is invisible to us but provides material in all three kingdoms. These are the physical, astral, and spiritual. Luna called Linga. This is the astral body. Dreams and illusions are produced here. Sol is called Prana. This produces the manifestations or activity upon every plane of existence. Mars is called Kama. This is the emotional and passionate element in nature. Mars combine with Saturn produces greed anger and selfishness. Mercury is called Manas. This is the Mind. The principle intelligence. Mercury combine with Saturn produce earthy thoughts. Mercury combine with Venus produce spiritual thoughts. Jupiter is called Buddhi. This is spiritual power. This can be used for good or bad intentions. Venus is called Atma. This is universal spiritual love. This is also called divine self knowledge. If combine with mercury on the physical plane it results in the attraction of opposite polarities. Evolution and involution are occult science terms. To borrow a word to make a new definition does not allow for the word to be returned. Often what happens is that the word has a completely new definition. This invariably results in confusion as the word has lost its original meaning. You will notice in the picture above is an example of this adoption of concepts. Hidden in the colors is really the combination of Sun and Moon. The gold of the Sun and the Silver of the Moon. This is the representation of Eden. When the two forces recombine a mental state of bliss ensues. As a result of the Law of Cycles there is always a high tide and a low tide just as the planets affect tides on the earth. There is an established cycle. Above is a diagram of the Tarot keys or if you wish it is the Hebrew letters designating the paths on the tree of life. The alchemical keys 6 and 16 point to Involution. This occurs as your change your thoughts. Once you change your approach old thought forms are broken down into the basic components ready to be utilized for new ideas. Keeping old thoughts forces you to stay in a rut and repeat the same patterns. Only be changing the approach will you achieve the proper forms necessary. These are guided by the spiritual light. By using the figure you can employ the tarot keys to what they were designed for to help you think clearly. The maximum poles denoting evolution of thought patterns involve keys 1, 11, and 21. An understanding of the ductless glands represented by each of the tarot keys enables you to understand where your difficulties lie. There is no longer the excuse of it is hard to change. You change every day. This guide is quite useful. Practitioners can observe other patterns in their day to day usage. This also explains the real definition of evolve and involve of your thoughts.
Much can be learned by students in the esoteric world from the architectural study by a Juan Bautista Villalpando. His theoretical explorations have been obscured into the realm of architectural historians. In fact this work is nothing more than the gleaning of the human body inner workings from the accounts of Numbers and Ezekiel. The drawing above shows the various glands and their respective nerves arranged near the cerebrum and cerebellum complex. That is indicated by the central figure. The dimensions of the squares was planned so that the empty rectangles had a value of 10. The filled squares has a value of 20. This information is important when studying the impact of these esoteric texts had on Copernicus and his work on the planets. The directions of East and West correspond with the orientation of the human body. The eyes, noise, mouth, and ears face East. This is indicated as Oriens at the bottom of the diagram. The direction of the spinal column. The backside is indicated as occidens. In order to preserve the dimensions of the city and allow then to agree with the orbit of the planetary spheres the description of the powers was not preserved. The five powers of Quintessence, fire, water, air, and earth were placed in the lower quadrant at the temple entrance. These powers were described as the Levite families. They are in the diagram Gerson, Merari, Kohath, Moses, and Aaron. In order to preserve the concept that the body is a square. It was necessary to place Moses and Aaron together in the same square. The alternative would have been to introduce a five pointed star into the configuration.
Alchemy has several methods. Two sometimes make into the local papers. They are the wet path via umida. This involves the use of a glass flask. Slow heating is required. It is much safer. Time is require for its success. Changes are observed and satisfaction is guarantee. Opponents feel they want a faster way. A student must really love their body to arrive at more vigorous techniques. If in doubt see the blog article on the love of the mind and body. There is a quicker way. The length depends on the actually individual. The dry path, via secca, involves strenuous physical conditioning along with the breathing and mental exercises. When one decides on what determines completeness of the method. There will always be more to do. Much planning must be accomplished. Indeed the temptation to do things without thinking is not alchemy. The learned and the students must understand the occult laws before embarking on a path. There are no rulers to tell them what to do. Only rules to follow. In science a repeated observation becomes a law. In the occult there are quite a few laws since as a science it has been around a little longer. Study the requirements of your chosen paths wisely. Your activities are intended to release unstable complexes and not follow their unfriendly advice. Having an incorruptible body leads of course to the lightening path. The wet path showing the application of the bellows working. These are the lungs. Take particular attention to the glass vessel. This is your body.
Here we will examine in detail the neurophysiology presented in the Bundahishn The title of this work is translated into English as Creation. In chapter 19 of the Bundahishn there is a description of an unusual three-legged donkey that is an ally of the God Ohrmazd (Jupiter). Verse 1 states that this donkey stands amid an ocean formed from a flood that Ohrmazd's allies caused to defeat the demons. Sorry no giants were mentioned in the text. The donkey is the cerebrum and the cerebellum. These are indeed amid an ocean of spinal fluid. The donkey is described as having three feet. These feet are the brain stem. The brain has connections throughout the nervous system Next are describe the sense organs of the donkey. The visual sense organs known as the eyes are six in number. Two of these eyes are on the top of the head. These are the optic thalami. Two are in the head these are the optic eyes. Two are in the hump. We are assured that the donkey uses the sharpness of these eyes to overcome and destroy. The number of mouths are nine. Three in the head. three are in the hump. Three are in the inner parts of the flanks. The size of these mouths we are informed are the size of a cottage. The feet are also large. There is a reference to a the electrical signals involved in the communications to the brain. The feet when placed on the ground could accommodate a grid of a thousand sheep as they pasture on the grass. This provides information on the volume of data that can be processed. The circuit of the feet would require 1000 men and 1000 horses may pass inside. The horn of the donkey has attracted much scholarly attention. It is the spinal column. The horn is like gold and is hollow. The gold refers to the solar currents. A thousand branch horns can befit several types of grazing animals, or mounts. These are Camel, Horse, Ox, and of course Donkey. This horn also has a stable effect on spurious currents affecting the thoughts in the nervous system. This is stated as the horn will defeat and dissipate. That is to attenuate and cancel the signals not residing from the cerebrum, and other higher nerve centers. These incorrect centers are described as vile corruption resulting from the source in the automatic nervous system. These sources are referred to as noxious creatures. Swedenborg pointed out that the spinal fluid has motion just like a ocean has tides controlled by the planets. The Bundahishn has a surprise for some readers. It mentions that the cerebral spinal axis has the ability to agitate the spinal fluid just as a mixer does to cake batter. The ears of this three-legged donkey can cause the spinal fluid to shake. This donkey can also emit sounds into the fluid. Neuroscience has much to learn from what these texts can offer. Our current understanding is that nervous tissue does not provide dynamic effects to the spinal fluid. We still do not understand the source of the low frequency pulse that spinal fluid emits. This has been noted from ancient Egyptian surgical texts. An implication of this work shows that deities riding mounts actual refer to different aspects of the higher will controlling the mental functions. The mentioning of sacrifices in Torah is not to be taken literally. These texts all refer to the descriptions of the interface of the mind, spirit, body and how to control the organs through the nerve connections.
Further Reading Library of several texts. Mostly in English http://www.avesta.org/avesta.html Bundahishn in English The Bundahishn Greys Anatomy A brilliant and highly gifted writer composed a humble book in 1583 AD. The work is so useful that even now it is still being printed. To understand the mind is a noble pursuit. Publishers in the past have thinly veiled Bruno’s efforts as a series of memory aids. This is a gross misunderstanding of his scholarship. This interpretation comes about from one of the examples given about a poem which uses the sequence of the zodiac denizens. On the surface it appears as a cute way to associate the months of the year with the turning of that band of star patterns. The object of the writer is clearly stated. The Thirty Seals is to serve as a series of tools designed with the purpose of inventing, deciding a course of action, and the memorization of any subject. The ability to invert new knowledge requires more than just the technique of the arrangement of facts for quick study. Oddly or rightly no student is aware of the existence of this book. Somehow despite this confusion over the author’s intent one publisher was still able to adopt a cover illustration of the Hagia Sophia. This shrine that we all posses is dedicated to a Goddess. A structure that quite coincidently was designed to resemble the brain case of the skull. The name itself means wisdom. The temptation to show the innards of an adding machine or the latest computer was not utilized. Such an image would have been expected. This shows some people around you are deeply aware of what this text offers to the reader. Reasons to read
We come to understand the knowledge of the scriptures in the relation to the mind. There is a continued effort in human literature to work with and understand our greatest gift. The history of mental philosophy has yet to be composed. Bruno describes the effect meditation has on the sense organs. In Genesis 19:26 we are told the meaning of the text. Escaping the blind senses of Pentapolis not yet able to see over the mountain’s peak, she looked behind Lot toward Sodom, frozen, turned to senseless stone. Lot signifies the higher mind. By going to the mountain the higher mind meditates. Looking inward. The wife of Lot is the emotions. The process of meditating freezes the lower mind this is because the effects of stimulation by the senses is no longer registered by the mind. A calming emotion occurs. Bruno goes further by explaining the meaning behind the Greek myths. It is noted that concentration makes hearing duller. Homer the blind poet was deprived of the external light, but excelled greatly in the internal light. This insight explains the purpose of myths and Holy texts. A psychology of the mind that stretches back farther than imagined previously by scholars. This shows that religious authors deeply understood the connection between physiology, health, and psychology found in ancient writings. A profound hermetic work is observed for our education. The work entitled Tornado has a far different meaning than the often proscribed interpretation. A close up view of the central figures reveal the actual intention of the artist. What is striking from the close up is that central figure has a lion’s head. This is the builder. Jesus had an earthly father figure called Joseph. He is portrayed in art as a carpenter. Holding the tools of the wood trade. These same tools can be found in the art of the Aeon figures. Sculptures labelled the Aeon have the same features. The image is portrayed as a fight between two entities. If that were so then the artist provided an incorrect intention. The figures appear to be helping each other. Lets look at the name to gain insight as to what message the art is asking. The title given is Tornado. This name refers to the action experienced by a Vortex. The Spanish word Tornar means in English to Turn and that is precisely the intention of the Artist. The turning action is shown by the coiling serpent around the central figure representing the builder. If one has developed the optical spiritual organs then one can see what chakras look like when they are functioning. They have a rotational sense. It would not be correct to say a physical model can give an exact image. Nevertheless an analogy would help. The vibrational aspect of a chakra can correspond to the turing action observed in a vortex. The Aeon figure. One can barely detect the presence of the head on top of the figure. A comparison with other drawings and sculptures can reveal that there is indeed a serpent like object. Often with the head on-top of the central figure. This invariably refers to the site between the two hemispheres of the cerebrum. This shows that there is no conflict between two opposing forces but actually one aspect. The drawing of the snake or serpent is a motif used in esoteric literature to describe the Life-power. The artist included a Lemniscate in the painting. An odd portion that gives away this is not a painting of heroic gods but of mortal humans governed by the Life-Power in us. If the application of the lemniscate symbol may seem relegated to the mathematical sciences. Then no need to be of concern. Actually brain waves take on the same pattern. This odd sculpture below contains a hidden lemniscate. Notice at the level where the waves meet the air. There is a coiling of the serpent that resembles a three dimensional fold that is unmistakeable for the lemniscate drawn in three dimensions. The snake tail and the back show that the life power is the process of forming with the assistance of the Lamb and the Lion. The contour of the sculpture is perfect for the signal to be established. Another example of how Art works with the mind and body connections.
This is what to wear to avoid becoming a false prophet. Beginners in the process of working with their vehicles are fought with difficulties. They are afraid to make choices. There exists help. Many have made the trip to the mountains. In this article we learn about one of alchemical processes used to aid the mind. Calcination - This is the process where gases trapped in solids can be removed. Sphere of Sun to Sphere of Uranus. In alchemy the Philosopher’s Stone lies near the Solar Sphere. The process is known as the purgation of the Stone by gentle heating. This allows for the expulsion of trapped volatile matter inside the Stone. These volatiles are complexes of quickness to anger. Changeable emotions. Personal bias, erroneous opinion. The more resilient complexes to heat are reflective. These complexes have positive aids to help rather than hinder. They tend to be unwavering. Aries, is a fire sign, Mars is ruler and Sun is exalted by the alchemical process of calcination. The element worked with is Tejas (Agni). The word Agni in the west is called fire. The energy currents operated on are the solar plexus. This is the Sun center, and the left heart ganglion region (facing the reader's backside). Psychologically Calcination is the process that drives out from consciousness the volatile or changeable elements of emotion. This includes personal bias, erroneous opinion, temperamental judgements. In order to achieve this sublimation gentle heat is required. Mars is represented by key 16. This is the source of the heating. The Tower is the body. The image of the lightning is the ignition source. Notice this lightning is from above. The region of your cerebrum with respect to the nerves along the spinal column. The darkening clouds indicate the volatile thoughts. The burning of oil. Anger is shown in paintings by storm clouds. The solid objects following are the nonvolatiles returning to the flask. These represent the purer conscious (Man) and subconscious (Woman). The operator must be careful with using the Mars-force. These passages warn against wanton application of Mars in Calcination: Job (6:6), Ezekiel (13:10-16), Ezekiel (22:28). These passages talks of an untempered mortar. The passage in Job warns the reader of the unsavory taste as the implied root to the meaning of untempered. This is why the words in the passage complain of a lack of taste in the food items listed. To understand Job requires not a literal word by word translation. This makes readers lost in acquiring knowledge. The Hebrew word for the untempered mortar is "tawfale". This unsavory taste signifies a slimy condition. Which of course makes your thoughts not suitable building materials to construct an edifice. The sliminess is of course vanity and wastes your energy. preventing you to create with your mind. The masons use a special lambskin apron to protect the wearer of the possibility of seeing vanity. This refers to unsavory, slimy, and viscous in nature. This means an unwanted side effect of Mars is the production of speaking lies and seeking vanity. The Mars-Force is a helpful tool when used properly. The ablative property can produce bodily and mental purity. To see vanity is to see falsehoods. People become trapped by their misconceptions, and prejudices. The purpose of Calcination is the purgation of the sub-conscious. This produces a new consciousness which is free from error. This can be used to build stable structures. The heating process allows self-consciousness and sub-consciousness to both be purified. Further the heat allows the pure components to fuse. This solid mixture is allowed to act freely without any form due to a fixation. The source of the Life-power can flow freely without any restrictions to hamper the path. The benefits from Calcination is stability in thought development. The consciousness of the Adept is free from Fixations. The red hot iron produced from Mars is sufficient to melt the Stone like wax. This heat is the result of Mars acting upon the Stone. Hence the path is between the spheres of Mars and Sun. The wax analogy provided by the author of Sophie Hydrolith further emphasizes the fusibility aspect of the process. Physiologically speaking this allows the cardiac nerves to work on the epigastric nerves removing conflicting and unnecessary structures. There is less desire to become angry. The hat holds the sign of Aries. This shows the requirement of the cerebrum is necessary in the thought processes. The red color of the card indicates Martian control and hence cardiac nerves are involved in the purification. The emperor sits upon the cubic Stone indicates that this key involves the heart and stomach nerves that must be ruled by the cerebrum. This means the nerves from all three systems must work in conjunction together (identical space, identical time). The head and shoulders represent 3. The legs represent 4. The addition gives the 7 nerve centers along the spine. The 3 is above the 4. This is the reversed pattern in the Hanged man key 12, which involves a type of meditation called Samadhi. A state of meditative consciousness by suspending the lower thoughts. The water behind the Emperor comes from the Empress. This is the source of creation. Your ability to organize created thoughts so they can be retrieved immediately. So they can be used by the Empress to create new thoughts resides in the power of the Emperor. This is your logic strength. All is lost to those that feel they cannot build with their minds. Alchemy shows that our minds have many capabilities that can be accessed using pictures. This was alluded to by Giordano Bruno in his works. One such work was the Thirty Seals. Take note of the scenery in this key. The Empress key 3 shows quite clearly the origins of thoughts by the stream of water and the change in dimensions expressed by the waterfall. If you place the Emperor key 4, on the right side you will come to understand that the same water in the Empress key 3 flows behind the Emperor. If you take the time to be aware of how your mind works you will notice the creative properties and the organizational properties are handled differently. Readers should pause for a moment to observe this before going on. The mountain in the background of the Emperor means the higher faculties where meditation occurs is also the same place where organization occurs. By taking slow deep breaths allows the higher mind to do its work and quiets the lower minds to assist the logic processes of the higher mind. This mountain shows there is more to the cerebrum. In esoteric texts that organ is pictured as mount for the divine spirit to ride.
