As a result of our present understanding the series of hermetic manuscripts brought to Florence by Leonardo de Pistoia from Macedonia in 1460 are all that can be found of this ancient science. Scholars are amazed at how similar these works are to the Vedic and Buddhist teaching and yet contain information unknown. This dimness has suggested to the scientific mind that these works come from Egypt, this is located on the African continent. An alternative explanation is that these works all deal with the same subject. Thus it will be difficult to find the trail of these texts. Although we are aware of a Latin and English translation we no longer have the Greek originals. What source provided the material for the Greek text? This is unknown. As Terence McKenna pointed out rather than figure out the source of this work why not for a change of pace determine what is the meaning of these texts. Despite their lack of completeness these fragments reveal a clever way to teach. By reading the work the reader uses different parts of themselves to arrive at an understanding. This is the dream of distance learning. Not only through distance, but through several generations can instruction be provided. Imagine creating a way to provide yourself with a message of instruction where upon you awake from a long journey, or return to a world you once visited in the distant past. Does this seem fantastic? Consider how following a schizophrenic episode a person awakens with self-conscious. The symptoms pass. This person is Fully cognizant yet is perplexed at the meaning of what was scribbled onto a paper during the episode. What does this scribble mean? Who was this message for? If it was from a dream state, then why was it written? The mind when assembled can perform marvelous wonders. The translated Greek manuscript into Latin reveals the instruction of three figures. These are Ammon, Tat, and Asclepius. Ammon is the king, the doer. His concern is how to achieve an objective. How to make a plan happen. Tat is the intuition. He is the son of Hermes. Tat has the ability to become the Mystic. Asclepius is the intellect. He shows the traits of spiritual light from his parents. Asclepius is the child of Apollo, his father, and Coronis. She is mortal. The coming together of god and mortal produced a demigod. This means intellect has the benefits of both god and of mortal. Therefore even intellect can arrive at a wrong conclusion by the use of facts and proper logic. This is why intellect benefits when wisdom is provided. Wisdom is the goddess Sophia. These terms refer to the psychology of the mind. The terms seem different when we refute that the products of the mind are our thoughts. The West has added a mechanical clock to replace our cosmos. We may not even openly accept this. Yet if you use a device that has one of the descendants of this clock you are under the spell of a mechanical world. Such as a clock, watch, cell phone, computing device, even the timing circuit to control electronic devices was based on a mechanized clock. Just as a sidereal body rotates the clock has a design componet based on this body. This is called a Tourbillon, It is a vortex. The spinning motion of entities that combine to produce our thoughts. Every design from the mind originated from the science of the mind. This hits hard when you are introduced to products of the mind that worship the spirit. Cultures that place spirit and soul in their arts, architecture, plays, and media have the way of shocking us to awaken the one that sleeps within the sepulture. Some day it will be revealed to the mind what the significance of this statue really is. Examine carefully the path of the serpent upon the staff. Allow me to assist you. The staff represents the physical body. The serpent the soul. The path being created by the serpent is being composed of two motions. One is clockwise and the other is counterclockwise. This is represented by the "U" shape in the body of the serpent. This topology is seen in alchemical art work. Like all work it comes from the mind. Our Asclepius is the intellect. The product of god and mortal. Do you understand now what is meant by a god falling in love with a mortal? The children from such a union are the different functions of our mind. This includes reason, emotion, anger, desire and so on. See Enoch chapter 9. Like all hermetic works the introduction is anonymous. Who is this author? Since culture is a product of mind and all is mind it is difficult to study where the streams of knowledge come from. The text known as The Kyballon while the publisher and year can be determined its source cannot. We become aware that by turning the pages that three initiates were involved. This trinity is the ever evolving aspects of your mind. You can come to realize who these three characters are from the Hebrew alphabet. They are the mother letters: Aleph (א), Mem (מ), and Shin (ש). These are spirit, water, and fire. The elements water and fire came from the spirit. The Hebrew word Bereshit בראשית contains more information than can be imagined. It is part of a magical formula. There are seven words and Bereshit is the first word. The seven words are listed below and provide the instruction to awaken from your sleep and what to do once awaken. The words are written right to left. Do you feel you have passed through a mirror into another world? The use of mirrors were used in the black sabbath rituals to reach the much higher worlds inhabited by the soul. The three mother letters form the members of the trinity. By understanding the meaning of these letters we can learn how the mind transform during each evolution. How intellect, intuition, and skill grow. We are of course left with an unanswered question. Just who are the authors of the Kyballon? One possible form of conjecture is the information contained in the Kyballon is from an book called Ballinas The Wise On The Causes. The book dates between the 6th and 8th centuries and is written in Arabic. The title is "Kitab Balaniyus al-Hakim fi'l-`Ilal Kitāb sirr al-ḫalīqa" and in Arabic it is written as كتاب سر الخليقة و صنعة الطبيعة أو كتاب العلل للحكيم بلنياس . Even so this text came from another earlier source, written in Arabic. Therefore the creators of Ballinas is not the father nor the mother. Part of the contents has been circulated as various translations known in English to be called the Emerald Tablet. Another name used in English sources is σμάραγδινος (smáragdinos). This is the source of the latin name Smaragdine. They of course refer to the color of the emerald. By a careful observation games present in different cultures have hermetic principles placed inside their designs. Just as in games now plays, books, cartoons, and movies contain this knowledge. It is up to us to learn the message they contain. Once you awaken you will require its content. Gene Roddenberry's production of a movie entitled Specter in 1977 utilized hermetic concepts in the script, but did not explain their meaning. This new information caused a small awakening. Therefore words were introduced to a wider audience, yet being that the information present in the words was not understood their impact was very limited. Just as when we awaken from a schizophrenic episode. Scene from Gene Roddenberry's Specter 1977 The word Lilith ( לילית ) gains popularity. The meaning of this word has not been deciphered. Nevertheless the name is mentioned in the minds of many. A closer meaning to the function of the name lies in where Lilith operates. This is in the earth sphere. The place of manifestation. She is called the queen of the kingdom or Malkuth ( מלכות ). Who is the king? With 22 letters in the hebrew alphabet the major arcana serves as a way to understand hebrew words. By spelling out the letters match the tarot key to form the word. By inspection of the tarot images the meaning of the word can be understood. One aspect of the Tarot design was to produce a book that lacked a spine. The book is unique in that the teacher is the viewer of the images. A display of these images on walls will make any Art gallery into a university. The wisdom found by the study of hermetic texts can be obtained by inspection of the paintings. The process of viewing needs the mind to be engaged. The second aim of the Tarot is to construct an etheric body. The characters in the production of Specter are trying to build their etheric body as well. The word kingdom spelled out by tarot keys. It is important to realize that Malkuth ( מלכות ) begins with mem, written as ( מ ) or ( ם ). This means that the tarot key demands that the kingdom be tempered. The emotions produced from water and fire are mixed by archangel Michael in the picture. The Lion and Eagle are the two bodies that combine to make personality. The word Lilith spelled out in tarot. Right away we can understand that ( לילית ) involves combining the kidneys with the activated pineal gland. The symbolism of Justice is the control of the personality at the reins or kidneys. This is why the seated figure holds the balance. The hermit if studied very carefully will reveal that the figure is not a human, but a crystal mountain. The lantern holds a sixth sided shape stone. The key called the world is involved in manifesting. If we have many thoughts that do not lead to an outcome they remain in our mind as phantoms. It is important to remove these unfulfilled thoughts as they will haunt you. Release them. Future endeavors require access to free energy to achieve your goals. Notice how the letters repeat. Your body reflects this in the organs. Two Thalami, Two kidney. Hermetic Science The hermetic approach views the mind to operate in three worlds. The laws operating in these worlds are completely different. The first world is called Spirit. Here the function of pure intellect dwells. The second world is called Mental. Here the power and insight from the gods is possible. This is where inspiration lives. The third world is called physical. This is where doing things must happen. The execution of a planned worked upon in the other worlds will manifest here. By use of the cards the operator can understand where difficulties lie and how to work out a solution. The hermetic principles are the observed ways how our mind works. The use of the images allows the removal of unclear thoughts. The domain of the intellect is the spiritual world. This is Asclepius the son of Apollo. The domain of intuition is the mental world. This is Tat the son of Hermes. The domain of skill is the physical world. This is the kingdom of Ammon. The value of the images shows how to work with intangible concepts. Language can fail us but a picture representing the aspects of the mind you bring in eve, the subconscious. This allows all the parts to work upon a problem. In each of these worlds there is an evolution of eve. Each with a name. The use of a name is an address. When you change your thinking you change your way of speaking. Your language changes. You become coherent in thought as well as voice. The organizational effects on each world begin to show. The Hermetic principles are how the mind works. These are the observed behaviors. As mind evolves from earth the activities and functions grow stronger. The cards 1, 8, 15 can be derived by adding 7 to 1 and 8. The keys for each principle can be generated by adding 7. This observation is the beginning to learn why occultists refer to why the body spirit and mind is related to numbers. The first principle is called the Principle of Mentalism. This means the All is Mind, and the universe is mental. A useful exercise is to observe how an activity you proscribed can be related to key 15, key 8 and key 1. Every event has an origin in the spiritual. This seemingly easy to grasp principle is an important key to unlock the closed doors of the mental and soul worlds. The world psyche (ψυχή) means breath. To the student lacking this key all entry points are closed. The principle means that all observables are due to an underlying reality. Despite the ability of the mind to create instruments and the employment of dormant physical senses we are unable to understand the makeup of what we conceive as the universe and the phenomena that we experience. This underlying essence is able to provide us with an experience. It has a spirit yet attempts to discover this spirit are blocked. The spirit is unknowable and undefinable to us. Therefore occult studies require the understanding of feedback processes. The event and causative agent are involved a mechanism that requires the mental manipulation of elements called spirit, fire, water, air, and earth. This spirit is also called quintessence in western esoteric literature. The oriental system is metal, fire, wood, and earth. The student must learn to work with these unseen and undetected elements. The image of key 15 eludes the only those not on the path. The two figures in front represent the self-conscious and the subconscious. The horns represent the activation of the Ammon's Horn and the hippocampus toward the problem you are trying to solve. Normally these structures are engaged in problems related to emotion. If your mind is not absorbed fully you will not be able to manifest. The mind is used to changing activities suddenly rather than devote time to one project. This devotion is why the two figures are connected to a cube. The cube is the philosopher's stone produced from consuming food. Typically you are do not associate what you eat with executing a plain. The objective is to use portions of the food to prepare seeds. The corpuscles stored in the sheep fold called the bears in the night sky. These constellations represent the organs where the body's livestock are stored. The activities you choose to use them determine their fate. This therefore is a holistic approach to let the mind and body work together rather in opposition. Time material and space must be allocated to a project. The air, water, fire, and the seeds are represented in this key. Be using all three keys you can tackle any project you are working on. Each of the Hebrew letters are used to gain passage through the Labyrinth called the mind. The principle of correspondence means that as above, so below; as below, so above. By realizing this one can determine where obstacles are blocking you. The thought that you have and the idea you produced into reality has to be related. When we sleep we are unable to recall what we thought a short time ago. Do to the events experienced before your studies you may feel events are occurring by random forces. Such forces cannot be controlled. It must be remembered that the mind will wander and the higher self must control the reins. The reins refer to the kidneys. This is where personality dwells. There are many hidden worlds before thought materializes into an object or an action. By applying this principle the student is able to solve many problems related to manifesting. The hierarchy of archangel, angel, daemon, hero, men, and so on relate to the structures known as desire, emotion, feeling, intellect, logic, inspiration, creation. By understanding how thoughts are formed you will be able form clear images and execute your concepts coherently. Principle of Vibrations states that nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates. The notion of a universe moving is often accepted without question. This concept requires the understanding that your thoughts can also move not just what we perceive as the components that make up matter. The Principle of Polarity indicates that everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same. All truths are but half truths. All paradoxes maybe reconciled. Everything is dual. If you find only one pole from a concept than the only pole is hidden. Use the principles to find the corresponding pole. Even in language the derivatives of worlds are not correctly defined. The meaning of words are extremely important for they actually are used in invocations. They have an effect on the various components of our mind. One the poles are known it is vital to learn how the polarity can be changed. Use the images of the keys to assist you. By mediating on the images you can achieve changes in polarity. The Principle of Rhythm requires that everything flows out and in. This means tides can ebb and flow. This means rhythm has the ability to compensates. In order to use rhythm it is important to be aware of your breathing patterns. How you breathe depends on musical rhythm. This principle is used together with polarity to effect a change. The Principle of Cause and Effect ensures there can never be a chance coincidence. Everything happens according to law. There is no chance. Principle of Gender illustrates that gender occurs everywhere in the universe. The function of gender manifests on all planes in the universe. This means forces have gender. That is why deities used to represent a force have a gender. The names of deities may not be complete. The names are hidden in the manuscripts. In thoughts the functions of logic and creation must contain a male female pair in order to be complete.
Every male entity contains within the female element. Every female has within the male principle. To bring out any idea requires knowledge of four processes these are Spiritual creation, Generation, and regeneration. This occurs not only in relations between people, but also ideas that you wish to occur. The same mental concepts are involved in hermetic science. This principle is often confused because operators do not experience the same feelings in the beginning for a desire to want and thing compared with building a friendship, or experiencing the forces during a courtship.
