In understanding the message of the medium demands more than familiarizing yourself with the background. We take pride in our abilities with induction and rationalization. Despite being unable to distinguish between no more than three shades of consciousness the air of arrogance stifles our spiritual breath. A exercise in reading esoteric texts can establish the necessary approach to learn how to begin swimming in the fluid called air. This is a finer medium than the coarser stuff used in earth. Bear in mind a simple observation. Between the six moths from the Autumnal equinox until the Vernal equinox what can you perceive about the pair of Moon and Sun in the sky? As you ponder the reasons for what happens to the sun during a full moon consider how these two orbs are described in the poetry of many lands. A far harder question is what does this have to do with my mind? The ancients describe forces in the brain operating in terms if sun and moon. In addition both these orbs relate to different aspects of the soul. These higher metaphors were always intended by the writers of these works. The many combined efforts to elucidate these gems came from the sweat of Plutarch, Macrobius, Diogenes Laertius, Martainus Capella, Lucian, and Suidas. They have shed much knowledge. If only their works can be read. Macrobius offers the wisdom that the soul of the universe is nature itself. In the lore of Egyptian thought a wise approach can be learned. The Egyptian view is that the stuff known as matter is the first principle. The basic building block known as matter is used in combinations to make four elements. These structures provide the living entities out which every species is produced. A rather deep way to understand your world. There is no need to revise or change the form when new discoveries are. Everything fits into the description. The Sun and Moon are gods with the names Osiris and Isis respectively. A statue of Isis from the Roman culture Why is there this frequent references to the position of star patterns in these manuscripts. More importantly why have we lost the ability to understand their value in us? The author Proclus has something to say about the purpose behind these patterns of stars. "There exists a concerted action, and a species of united force and inspection, in all the celestial deities, by means of which all that comes from the earth, and all that appertains to the changes which it experiences, is ruled." This requires an understanding which of these secondary agents of the sun are astrological signs or combinations known as paranetellons. The artistic rendering of these agents provides a way fro the mind to focus on a series of concepts, forces, energy patterns. These are mistakenly pointed out as the deities. Attempts to describe the pictures without knowledge of what is being represented leads to much conjecture as theories cannot be verified. The appearances, disappearances resulting from the risings, and settings actually function to govern the progress of the architect of the universe. The direction of activity involves the stars influences the mental states called the seven planets. These planets modulate the twelve 12 zodiac signs. The signs, in turn, influence the elements. A formula describing such effects is wanting. A Philosopher called Marcus Aurelius was kind enough to point to this system. "Has not each star its peculiar activity or energy ?" "but nevertheless all these differences are combined with one another, so as to form the universal action of nature." Marcus Aurelius ( 1. VI. cap. xxxviii. ) The importance of understanding how the mind and body interact is so great that the information of the Genii was incorporated into the sacred Myths. Such knowledge passes from astrology to astronomy. This is why religions encode this information within their architectures the very same images of the stars. The Mythological fables provide spiritual exercises unknown to the uninitiated. The source of these fables is the universal soul. This is the secret that moves the various heavenly spheres. The representative of the heavenly power is the Sun. As this orb transits a zodiac the energy field cause by the stars is modified by the Paranatellons. It is not difficult to realize what is going on. Some of the stars will rise as some will fall. This provides a wide variation of modulation as the partners dance. As an example: The constellation Gemini rises after Auriga, the charioteer. The passengers present on this constellation are of course three goats (two kids and 1 parent). The goats (kids) are the children of Jupiter. The elder goat is pan. The Domicile of Taurus is Venus The first full moon is Taurus Auriga and Orion are in the paranatellons of Taurus The second full moon occurs in Gemini The Domicile of the Moon is Cancer The plant called Melilot has trefoil leaves. The third full moon occurs in Cancer Each of the characters happen to be found in the night sky. All that Isis was able to find was the crown worn by Osiris. The crown is made from the leaves of the Melilot plant. Isis with the assistance of two dogs helped her find Anibus the son of Nephthys. The Domicile of the Sun is Leo This position is represented by the King of Byblos. He is Adonis. His kingdom is where Isis sought the box containing her husband. The fourth full moon occurs in Leo The king sits upon his throne as the stone known as Cepheus. The court of Byblos includes the wife of the King. She is represented by Cassiopeia. Their lovely daughter is Andromeda, and their son-in-law is Perseus. The court of Byblos fits together in the northern hemisphere. The king and queen can be viewed close to the polar region. The daughter and their son-in-law are close to the zodiac. The Domicile of Virgo is Mercury The fifth full moon in Virgo The Domicile of Libra is Venus The sixth full moon occurs in Libra
