It is said by the ancients that the Moly has black roots that produces white flowers. A plant given by the god Hermes to protect those heroes against the powers of Circe. This herb has eluded many botany experts. An example of Circe's power is demonstrated each time a paper or book is published on attempts to find evidence for this plant. With the latest techniques in the sciences surely we will be able to obtain the genetic record and grow the plant in a laboratory. The plant can not be found therefore one can assumed it is extinct. The esoteric books that speak of the Moly are quick to point out that the plant is hard to dig for mortals. This information has bypassed many who desire the properties of the plant. The sorcery of Circe is extremely great for many have missed that part of the passage. Imagine being able to grow the herb. How can it be obtained by mortals if they are unable to dig. Only the gods have the ability to produce this plant. They surely can find a way. " I was about to come to the great house of the sorceress, Circe, then Hermes, of the golden wand, met me.." A solution would be to inquire the info from the god Hermes. When studying these sources a wise technique is to write down the characteristics of each god. The descriptions provide a path for you to understand the hidden meaning of the text. Circe undoubtedly is someone you know very well. The name may not be the name you call it. Knowledge is very seductive. The conscious self loves to take in all that is possible. Without reason, how is it possible to discern what is needed to be tackled and what can wait for further information. "thy comrades yonder in the house of Circe are penned like swine in close-barred sties. And art thou come to release them? Nay, I tell thee, thou shalt not thyself return, but shalt remain there with the others." We all feel like super beings. What happen to others will not happen to us. Hermes provides us with a warning that we will end up the same as others. "I will free thee from harm, and save thee. Here, take this potent herb, and go to the house of Circe, and it shall ward off from thy head the evil day. And I will tell thee all the baneful wiles of Circe. She will mix thee a potion, and cast drugs into the food; but even so she shall not be able to bewitch thee, for the potent herb that I shall give thee will not suffer it." The material world is so seductive we feel that we must consume certain foods, and medicines in order to gain intelligence. This plant by itself can wards us against Circe’s power. Note the description does not give us much detail. The Moly is unique to the reader for its simplicity. This wards us against Circe. Note the description does not give us much detail. The artist rendering in the picture above is quite complicated compared with what information is provided. "At the root it was black, but its flower was like milk. Moly the gods call it ..." If you meditate on the above sentence and reflect on its meaning. All will be clear and Circe's power on your will disappear. You do not have to boil the roots and inhale the vapors. When your first learn something your wisdom is not to be seen. Hence the reason why the roots of the Moly are black. Wisdom is difficult to discern. Eventually you are able to visualize wisdom. This is why the flowers are milky white. Once you acquire wisdom the plant grows and produces visible flowers. Your powers of discernment grow. What can Hermes do for me? A physical model of such a tool must assist the user. The tools possessed in the hands of the hindu deities correspond to different parts of the nervous system. The crossing of the chasm leads the explorers to personally assign each of the tools by names. The application of Wisdom shall be the aid as the light bearer provides assistance. An example of this usage can be seen in the pictures of Indra seen in India and the carvings of Merodach in Sumeria.
