The SEVEN times gives it away. This is pure alchemy. Take three beings and place them inside a furnace. Cook at high heat for two days. Then simmer for 1 week. Remove from oven when four beings are produced. This rather odd recipe is from the Book of Daniel. What is not widely known about this book is that the text was written in two languages. One is cuneiform, the written language of the Arkkadians. This unique book demonstrates it is possible for two cultures to mix peacefully and produce a new way of thinking. This can be expressed as new tools, new art, like a renaissance. It would seem that these events have happen many times on our earth. (See Time Spirits) What exactly does the book of Daniel referred to when it describes a furnace. This specifically is a reference to the human body. This is the vessel used as a cooking pot. The entities used in the recipe are as real as you are real. They describe worlds or if you like mental states. They are sometimes called quite correctly worlds, or beings. This latter description has resulted in confusion for those who take literal interpretations. It is not correct to assume the authors of these texts were seeking ways to hide information. As our orb travels through her course in the heavens the orb of your own eye travels. If you were to examine someone else’s eye you will notice it is not stationary in its socket. The anatomy of the eye includes the word orbit. This is not a coincidence. The eye appears to orbit. Slight motions can be detected by another viewer’s eye. If you have never observed this. Try it now with a friend. Notice how orb can imply a heavenly body, and eye, and the visual activity of the thalamus in the brain. This is just one example of how metaphors are applied in esoteric texts. In such works the meaning is always directed toward the mind and physiology of the being. It is not intended to be taken literally. This is a common problem of interpreters, and scholars. The combined efforts make understanding difficult. What then are these worlds that are placed in the human body and cooked to produce a fourth world. They have names. They are called Etheric, Mental, and Astral. I referred to them as worlds to avoid confusion with using the word body. We are not cooking people. The individual is forging communication links to these worlds by mediating. This is the heating process. What is the fourth world? This is the Causal world. From this description it can be understood what the book of Daniel is conveying. It is the art of alchemy. One can appreciate the analogy of the human body as a furnace. The alchemical term is Athanor and the concept comes from the alchemical cylinders that were found in the Chaldean cities. Eliphas Levi wrote that the Athanor was a chemical instrument that we all possessed. He went on to mention that its purpose was to separate the subtle from the gross and the fixed from the volatile. This describes the removal of what is not true self from your personality. Your higher being. The process of the Athanor is represented by the image of a five pointed star. This description points to the name of the fourth body produced inside the furnace. The exact meaning of Athanor is essence brought about through fire. The hebrew pronunciation is eth-ha-nour. The arabic pronunciation is al-tannoor. The process demands a slow burning, rather than a rapid heating. This is a case where faster is not better. Therefore this vessel known as the human body has the capability of extracting the essence using fire. What is this essence? The human body extracts the radiant energy of the sun present in food. The process of digestion releases this inherent energy brought about by photosynthesis. The power derived from food is what esotericists call quintessence. That is the fifth element of the tattvas. In the west it is referred as Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Quintessence. These elements will obey a well balanced mind. Such a person is given the title of Sage. They cannot do good nor can they do evil. They do not stand at the center of a cross but are spread arms and legs apart as a five pointed star with their head lighted by a spiritual fire making one of the points. Physical - The starting point, the symbols to be used and how it is carried out. Side Note (A trip to the East) In China it is called metal and is represented by the number 5 to imply it is the fifth element. In China this aspect is implied in the society. An advertisement for a hardware store is the number five. It is difficult to explain why five means hardware without the “hidden knowledge” that five refers to metal. The series in China is Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Metal. The local explanation is that hardware stores contained 5 kinds of metals. The Black Dragon and Organic Farming Once the Quintessence is extracted into the small intestine the remaining material passes through the large intestine. This solid is called the black dragon. The black dragon that resides in the bowels of the earth is a metaphoric description. The substance is still useful as it can be used as fertilizer to grow plants. That in turn assists in the production of flowers and fruits. This is the basis of organic produce. Notice how the alchemist is concern with sustainability and health at the point of food intake to the point of producing food in the soil. The process of elimination is regulated by constellation of Virgo. Respiration (All you require is Air) The use of Air by way of respiration is achieved by the lungs. In alchemy this is called the bellows. At this stage the Prana energy can be obtained from the Quintessence by fanning the fire in the lungs.
