You may have heard about the Osiris myth. The story consists of a family of three. These include Osiris, his trusted consort Isis, and their Child Horus. What of the family before them? There were far older deities in the Pantheon. This family does not get much attention. In order to understand our thought process and the evolution of consciousness we need to know more about these myths and how they apply to ourselves. Many of us experience the emotion of a conflict ranging inside is. We feel that we are the innocent bystanders of this process. The desire to end this is a universal feeling. What then is it really and how can it be stopped so that we can emerge from this cocoon and evolve? The earlier deity system involved two entities. They were a Mother and Son. The Mother was called Typhon and the Son was called Sut. This will appear at first hearing strange to those familiar with the far later myth. There are many questions when one looks at mythology. Here are some we should be considering. What is the deity of Sut? What are the attributes? I have no knowledge as to what the duties and responsibilities of sut are to nature. What emotion does sut represent in the human psyche? Sut means The Opener To assuage your discomfort and point out why there is no light. The truth will be revealed. A cosmic force is nameless. We can identify such a force by the fractional amount of the elements in their making. This will of course prevent no misunderstanding. The difficulty then is how to mentally focus on 1/5 water, 1/5 air, 1/5 earth, 1/5 fire, and 1/2 quintessence? There may be a few out there that have no difficulty. The solution to avoid abstract concepts was develop names images and colors for the mind to gain access to worlds that these forces have control of. Research has gone into the evolution of the names of the entities. This has been documented and provides for some interesting reading. The modifications are far more numerous than imaged. Much is often left out of discussions. Therefore a false sense exist as to how much is understood in a well informed society. Therefore in the study of the functioning of the mind it is required to know the concepts that these deities represent. The duality of mother and child In the beginning was a mother and her child. The Egyptian story appears different to our ears and eyes. Despite this this dual form of divinity is not so strange. The concept and image is all around us. This duality is preserved in the Christian tradition by the Madonna and child portrait. This image relates really to the Typhon and her child Sut. Eventually when the Osiris myth was established the image of mother and child was replaced by the goddess Isis caring for her child the baby Horus.” At the time of Christian development it was these images that were borrowed for the Christ child and his Mother. Twins The baby Horus has in fact a twin within. This can ultimately be related to Sut. This is why there is only one child in the Madonna image. We experience in our state a distortion. To view a world in the fourth dimension as clearly as we do the third is like trying to figure out that a circle is really a sphere. This description itself is cryptic. Without a path opened by clear vision through the application of meditation then the only tempting one is in the physical world. Yet there we can not find the answer that we seek. This leads to more frustration. The Twins are found on the Tarot cards and refers to specific paths along the branches of the Tree of Life. The card of the Sun shows the pair in front of a wall. This is the correct version of the key and is necessary when the cards are laid along the 32 paths of wisdom on the Tree. Other forms lead to difficulty in interpreting the meaning of the paths, and prevent the proper transitions required by the operator. Purification of thoughts The Alchemists refer to the Great Work. Only by wisdom do we lead to understanding. The key requires purification. It is the process to end distortion. We are restricted by a narrow outlook. This produces a limited view. When the light of Truth is experienced then no darkness can exist and hence no shadow. This process then aims to unite the Microcosm and the Macrocosm. This is known as earthly person uniting with their heavenly twin. Therefore the application of light will show that there is no duality as well as no trinity. There is only unity. This is displayed in the Pillars of the Temple of Solomon. The Pillars of Severity and Mercy represent the Sut-Horus conflict. The Middle Pillar represents the choice of balance. The method to bring about unity involves the marriage of the kingdom (The physical body) and the equilibrium Sephiroth called Beauty. This marriage results in the daughter of the kingdom to become the mother and marry the father. Once the pillars are established the Temple of Solomon is built. This is what is meant by the construction of the temple. This is an individual process. The pillar of Severity (old name was pillar of strength) provides a check for unwanted behavior. The energy used for strength is under the control of the higher self.
