If you know where to look this can be a great aid in your studies of learning about YOUrself. The message in the picture above is rarely seen by viewers of the animated production called Black Lagoon (Produced By Madhouse in 2010). The understanding of esoteric literature can only be achieved by the individual. The process is a personal experience. Help can be sought with a word, or concept but the Wisdom and Understanding is achieved by the Victory of the reader by ultimately learning about themselves. In stories involving a heroine/hero there exists a quest. What is hidden from the obvious activities in the performance is that the reader and viewer is really the one involved in the quest. The stories are metaphors for the evolving mental growth of the individual in realizing and understand who they are, where are they from, and of course where will they go. This fact is the reason for the creation of role playing games. The purpose of the stories is to identify with the journey of the soul. Which is clothed in many heroic myths that are repeated in many cultures. See the book Hamlet's Mill for several examples. If we were to look beyond the picture of a map and make the claim that the lines and colors outline a nervous system we can understand the hidden meaning of the story. After all a blue line is not a river. You must use your imagination. To make the assumption that only blue lines are rivers neglect the power that you have in changing your view. By easily allowing a blue line to be something else without protest implies you have the power to create by using your mind. By the Power of the mind a way to understand the invisible world by using visible objects can lead to enlightenment. Above shows on the bottom left side the sacrum section of the spine. In the upper right hand side is the cerebrum. At the top of the cerebrum which is not seen in the figure lies the Claustrum. This is the Source of the Main River in the body. Referred to in esoteric texts as the river that supplies the four rivers found in the Garden of Eden. Photo credits Funimation, 2010. Used for educational purposes only. What holds our attention to a story is not what we assume from a material aspect. It is not the coarse manifestation of the products from Earth. We are beings that involve more than just one element. When a plot in a play involves all five elements that produces a successful formula. The result will make the story able to capture our attention. The story of Black Lagoon is really about the transformation of the character Rock. Initially the crew consisted of only three members. These are Dutch, Benny, and Revy. Their personalities represent the elements Fire, Air, and Water. As a trinity they are a unit. Yet they are missing two more components of an elemental system. This is a theme of the plot to acquire all of the elements. This is what we are trying to do ourselves. We wish to strengthen an element that is not expressing itself clearly. We may even be trying to utilize these elements properly. That is why comics, films, and plays appeal to us. We ourselves are trying to change. Photo credit Funimation, 2010. Used for educational purposes only. The character Rock is aptly named. His character is the Lapsit exillis that alchemists seek. In Buddhism the stone is said to Fall from Heaven. When Rock is introduced in the first episode we witness the awakening of consciousness. It is the shock of coming from breathing in water to a world of air. We see this when Rock (earth) meets Dutch (the will) in the first episode. The conflict in the overall plot is Earth offers resistance to what the Will wants. The will wants change in the life. We see the Soul's journey in the body during its time in the Underworld. Rock slowly transforms throughout the various episodes. The changes are not always noticed as he is not the main character in each of the episodes. The final story takes the characters to a place called the Golden Triangle. This actually has an esoteric meaning. The story originally began in the water in the Black Lagoon. This is actually the Sacrum of the body. The triangle spoken of is located upcountry. Away from the large body of water. To get there a river must be traversed. The word golden triangle means the Philosopher's Stone. This object has an amber color and is formed in the head far away from the Sacrum located in the loins. At this point if the focus of our study shifts toward Rock's personality we see he develops the aspects of all five elements. These include Spirit, Fire, Emotion, Intellect, and Organization.
An in-depth study would reveal how these elements were gained and which characters aided Rock. By applying the principles the reader can explain the Role of Revy to Rock as initiator. Further questions for thought: Question 1 Which character(s) play the role of the Kundalini? Question 2 Which character(s) play the role of Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna? Question 3 What part of the nervous system does a black lagoon describe? An important observation Rock changes from one easily to become angry to one of being calm. His analytical abilities increase. Ease of anger dissipates your energy. This is the Giant metaphor as the ego will feast on the body's energy supplies from food. By using the mind to control the Giants there is more energy to do useful work such as thinking about successful projects. Rock also is no longer easily embarrassed as seen in the early episodes. He speaks eloquently and is able to convince others in the later episodes.
