The ability to change your conscious state is far from a trivial exercise. It may well be explained as "Everything happens according to numbers"(Πάντα κατ' αριθμό γίγνονται). Just how do we undergo this change and how do we gain control of a seemingly uncontrollable vehicle? Various articles written have hinted that the arts and music contain the methods of control. It is up to us to learn this language that the mind is providing us. The role of esoteric science is to allow us to develop and expand our capabilities so that we can grow. We must decide how to respond to events and not feel helpless as those trapped inside a machine. The underlying content weaved into the words found among esoteric literature texts is designed to elucidate the Man himself and Man in himself. This man is of course not what you call a man. This is a component of your mind. When you awake from sleep what are your first thoughts about? Get a drink of water? Pull the covers over your head and sleep more? Thoughts of what you like to eat? Read the Rig Veda? These thoughts are what the words "man" and "himself" refer to. Without this information, or if you choose to ignore the concept from those words you will misunderstand why this man is a product of something.....something called earth. There is an outside and an inside reference to the structure of your thoughts, that himself. The description is about the mind and its growth. Hence the word man is a term for a type of consciousness. It is not a physical person. Contrary to misconception this consciousness does not stand still. There are many parts. Some of them are stationary and some of them moves. That is why it is difficult to explain the reasoning for our thinking process. There is a possibility for our man to change, hence new names will be needed to identify the changes. The man will be, well a new man. You work with mind more than you like to admit. A state of physical image can be so powerful that one wishes to make the physical body resemble a photograph. This is the power of the mind. Imagine altering your body. How than will you change your mind if you are not sure how your are forming your thoughts? A common trap is to think consuming of foods derived from plant, animal, and mineral will alter our mind. This is not true. The affects are imagined by the power of the mind. There is a famous prayer in the English language. The invocation is: "I need my caffeine." Despite the association with a beverage with a substance. The taste and resulting affects are not due to caffeine. If were to try and taste caffeine. The result would be a swearing off the desire to touch anything suspected by the mind to contain caffeine. This shows it is not taste that the mind associates with foods. The power of the mind is great. A false idol can be simply created by wearing a shirt with the chemical structure formula of caffeine. This image is not caffeine. However, the mind associates the image with its desired friend. Even nicknames and words of affection are created to honor its imagined friend. It is important that you hold onto the reins else your mind will travel far without you. Your thoughts are yours alone. It is your responsibility to care for your mind. Yet you yourself can be attached to a wheel. Here you will be repeating the same thoughts and not realize that it is even occurring. This is a state of stupor. Your are changing through several conscious states, and not be aware of it. The machine is not responding to the controls. The machine that you are inside. You have to learn how to operate these controls. The terms in this article refer to mind alone. This is an old science that today the purpose of has been sent into the past and is now long forgotten. The terms may seem foreign to you. Your path to make a decision comes about through sensing. Much of this has little to do with what is assumed to be an outside influence. This is actually why comedians can misdirect our attention. The response is inside, it comes from liquids in the physical body that when transferred to another region of the body result in an outburst of emotion such as a storm. The older terms involve to describe emotion sounds like the description of weather. Rain winds, warmth and cold were once used in esoteric texts to describe psychology. Esoteric texts are designed quite differently. The content is designed to shock you into a new world. This process is describe by the Greek word Metanoia (μετάνοια). The effect of experiencing Metanoia is to bring about a transformative change of the heart. The word is translated as Repent. This can be misleading. The word comes from Greek Mysticism. In the Bacchus mystery the goddess Minerva saves the heart of Bacchus from dismemberment by lifting it out from the four elements and placed into the ether. The ether is the fifth element. This "heart" is the immortal center of the rational soul. That means you can shift into your soul and feel it. Our daily habits reflect a numb sensation of the various mental centers. We need to grow the spiritual organs to see other worlds. A book that describes these worlds for the blind is called Genesis. Often mistaken for a historical account. With a particular book called Genesis we are not discussing past events. We are discussing the future. Your future. The ability to develop yourself will take you from earth to heaven. This is the subject of possibilities in improvement. Higher levels of development are marked by the animals of the sea and land. The inner development of man is described as the ability of the earth to bring forth tender herb and fruit trees. And God said, Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth. And it was so. This metaphoric language shows Man's ability to attain wisdom and understanding. The goal of esoteric literature is to end violence and increase consciousness. The Babylonian Creation Myth is called Enuma Elish, the title comes from the first descriptive words which translate as "When On High." Another translation of Enuma Elish can be found. The author of this work is Alexander Heidal, University of Chicago, 1942. When on high the heaven had not been named, Firm ground below had not been called by name, Naught but primordial Apsu, their begetter, (And) Mummu Tiamat, she who bore them all, Their waters commingling as a single body, No reed but had been matted, no marsh land had appeared, When no gods whatever had been brought into being, Un-named, their destinies yet undermined-- The creation myths actually contain information that is not obvious to translators. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. What has generally glossed over requires a closer scrutiny. The heavens and earth are two distinct states. Esoteric literature describes mental states employing words such as Heaven, Earth, Flora (plants), Fauna (animals). This includes sea, fresh water and salt water. Many mental states are possible. Heaven as an inner state, and earth as an outer state. Some of these states are closer together than others. compare sea animals versus birds in the air. Question how many states do you participate in? If you say 14 states, than you will have no problem understanding this article. Recall the above translation. Of the two distinct states, the one labelled as earth has some features assigned to it. That is the earth is formless and void. Did you say those are not features? They are descriptive they imply that their is room for improvement. That means our mind has the ability to improve. We are born incomplete. We have the opportunity to make these changes. Again you may wonder. How do I know how many states I have access to? Enter our three men. Use of a descriptive view of the effects experienced in different consciousness states can be understood if we use the three terms: Dead Man, Mechanical Man, and Conscious Man. To relate conscious states with the abstract tree of life we can learn that excluding the top triangle their are 7 possible men. The highest Man numbered 7 has a unique property compared with the lower men. The man number 7 has the ability to understand different languages. Do you realize which man this is referring to on the tree of life? The image above is of a tree after the fall. Before the fall the sephira marked Malkuth is in the position marked Da'at. The anthology of earth and heaven explain why our mind is described as an acorn. As a seed it is not sufficient to take root in the earth. The essence inside this ark is too weak. An external energy source is requested. This is personality. The ability for essence to take what personality can provide is utilized to transform into different men. A strong personality will serve the purpose very well. A weak personality will be a poor vehicle. Therefore part of the Great Work needs to improve personality before the various men can be transformed. You must interpret the successive men in terms of how can these minds serve the soul. A earth that is waste and void is a mechanical man. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face (surface) of the waters. This is the commencement of awakening. Then God said let there be light and there was light. And Elohim said, "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the fish of the sea.... On the sixth day, the sephera Geburah (or spelled Gevurah) is created. In Genesis we learn that man number 7 is in touch with the centers within. He has the ability to communicate with all the nerve clusters. They share a common language. As a result this being has a living soul and is in touch with God. On the seventh day the Elohim breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. This marks the passage for man number 7 to become a living soul. This sephira is Chesed, or Gedulah. This is the last sephira created. Each of the lower sephira are created according to the days of creation. The order of the Days of Creation for the fifth, sixth, and seventh day. Day 5 Tiphereth is created. This is Manas (मनस्). The Human Soul. Day 6 Geburah is created. This is Buddhi (बुद्धि). The Divine Soul. Day 7 Chesed is created. This is Atman (आत्मन्). The Spirit, One's True Self. Progressively through the genesis text we come to understand each man that is developed becomes more advanced. With each development a point on a star is drawn. The diagram relates different shocks that can occur to us. What happens depends on when the shock occurs. This is an event circuit. If a shock occurs at the wrong event an undesired effect will result. The musical notation is important in order to achieve the proper occurrence. The notes you see relate to those planetary names. Therefore there is a why to control the shocks rather than they control you when the 7 mental states that we briefly pass in our sleep state without realizing. It is interesting that from this diagram we can learn taking substances do not result in new conscious states. Food is taken in at position 1. This is utilized by the machine. The shock of air under Mi is necessary for the oxidation of the ingested food. This intake of air will not be used to change a conscious state. The Pythagoras scale C = Sun = Do, D = Saturn = Re, E = Mercury = Mi, F = Moon = Fa, G = Mars = Sol, A = Venus = La, B = Jupiter = Ti. The images were made to have visual entry to the mind. The notes to have auditory or vibratory by using pressure on the skin. These are the heavens the Sufi's discuss in the cosmology. The use of music and art can be helpful in transformation if the details are studied spiritually and not asleep. The shocks at the positions of 3,6, and 9 relate to a unique figure. That is of a triangle. This geometric figure represents the trinity. In the occult the object suggests immortality. By number this can be shown that such a figure is self sustaining. Take 1 and divide it by 3. The result gives a repeating decimal. The image that repeats an infinite number of terms is 3. The written approximation has hidden information. The number written as 0.3333333 involves two additional occult symbols. They are 0 which is the egg from which all is born. The second symbol is the '.' this represents the crown and hence the first sephira of the first triangle on the tree of life structure. The first triangle involving the numbers 1 = Crown, 2 = Wisdom, 3 = Understanding correspond to the logos. The remaining visible sephiroth (plural) labelled 4-10 are related to the men that we have been talking about. These minds. In both the old testament and the new testament frequent references are made to these structures. The geometric figures used to represent these first sephira are (.), dot for crown, ( - ), line for wisdom, and a (triangle) for Understanding. The repeating decimal of 1/3 indicates that the trinity is self sustaining because it can generate its own number when combining with 1. This information is far from a mechanical interpretation of mathematics. Shocks experienced at positions 3, 6, and 9 are not required for the mechanical mind to function. They are for accessing a different entity. The point of shock labeled 3 as 'Do' is a mechanical shock given by air drawn into the lungs and received by the blood. The point labeled 6 as 'Do, second octave' refers to the new man who gives himself the first conscious shock. From the one experiencing this shock you no longer consider thoughts in the theoretical. You 'see' how it applies to yourself. Since you are learning how to self remember, you reach the place of intaking impressions from the external world. The point labeled as 9 is the site of the second conscious shock. Because air is involved, this Enneagram relates in a special way to the Holy Ghost. The term means perfect breath. Please observe that the Rays used to advance upon the tree of life are depicted in art as emanating from a bird! The Enneagram also relates to the tarot key 20. This is known as Judgement. The reason why this key has the hebrew letter can now be revealed to our reader. The letter (ש), pronounced shin. The Arabic letter is (ش). The hebrew word for fire includes shin. This is Ash (אש), and it includes aleph. What a surprise as this relates to Taurus, the cerebellum and the neck. This part of the nervous system is involved in breathing. It does not stop there. In the back of the head lies the fourth ventricle. Respiration strengthens the heart by forcing spiritis animals into the vesicles. The fire of the alchemists is called (רוח) Ruach. This word is Feminine. This information is important. The Hebrew word means spirit. A very good text to read about this subject is called Secret Fire by Langford Garstin. The importance of being awake is repeated by the introduction of this book. The following is an important summary of this article. [In the application of Torches, Candles, and Spectacles what help may they be if people are determined not to see.] This means you dear reader must do the work and self remember. To know requires a shift into another world and breath with art provides the keys to entry. Further Reading Wisdom of the Knowing Ones. by Manly P Hall, 2000. A useful text describing how to understand esoteric christianity. Corinthians I A discussion of the first lower minds is mentioned. They are described as natural, Carnal (flesh), and Spiritual. The natural man in Greek is psychikos (ψυχικός). The spiritual man is pneumatikos (πνευματικός ). The body in Greek is soma (σῶμα) . Alchemical literature is read quite differently from what other types of texts. To read otherworldly books needs new techniques. Why read such books then? Why is there this growing trend to read fantasy and science fiction. The desire to awaken is always around us because the higher mind is calling to us. A useful commentary is also available here on Corinthians I. The different abilities of these minds to advanced are explained below: 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. I Corinthians 15:42-44. Three Kinds of Men, An essay by Clive Staples Lewis, 1943. This article points out the first lower minds. The classification of these minds are classified based on their ability to understand and receive a certain "body" of truth. With any spiritual information it is necessary to read not in a mechanical fashion. Imagine yourself reading a text three times from the perspective of three entities. The Child, The Father, and the Mother. These points of view you will be taking from the vertices of a triangle. Three Classes of Men, An essay by Lewis S. Chafer, 1918. This work expands further on the three progressions. A formative search for knowledge will not reveal what you seek. What is required is a way different from rote memorization. The same is true for any discovery. Knowledge describe of in esoteric science as "truth" demands a transfer to a new region of space. The dimensions will be different. A mechanical reading will not guarantee your quest for the truth. As the truth cannot be obtained if you search in the mechanical world. This search requires a change in the hour that must accompany your search in order to succeed. In other words You must change men. [Change your current mind].
